UPNG Students Set to Pay Compulsory Fees Online with BSP Pay
Students at the University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG) can now pay for their compulsory tuition fees online at their convenience through the BSP Pay Online Payment Solution.
The BSP Pay payment solution is a domestic online payment solution that allows a BSP account holder to carry out online payments on registered merchants instantly & securely without the use of card details.
School fee payments is a common challenge for all students, parents, sponsors and educational institutions throughout Papua New Guinea each year. It can be overburdening for staff with bulky manual fee collection and reconciliation of deposit slips, and an overwhelming process for registrations, which in turn, may lead to errors and inefficiency.
UPNG understand this challenge and hence, is pleased to announce the launch of the BSP Pay School Fee payment method that will now provide an ease for School Fee Payments for both parents, sponsors and students, and the University itself. Allowing both parties to avoid visiting the branches and for an efficient reconciliation process.
UPNG’s Director of Information and Communication Technology, William Tapio acclaimed the payment method saying, “We want to encourage parents, guardians, sponsors and students to utilize these alternative payment method to achieve a seamless registration journey for both students and bursary staff. Not only does the online payment provide real-time transaction reports, but also, eases registration processes when it is automatically triggered in the system after payment has been completed. A more convenient approach for both students and the University.”
The BSP Pay Online Payment platform is linked to the University Information System (UIS) portal, and enables parents, sponsors or students to pay school their fees online through a registered mobile number. No bankcard details are required.
How to Pay Online
- Visit the BSP website bsp.com.pg to activate your bank account for BSP Pay through the ‘BSP Pay’ customer portal. (You can confirm your BSP ID through the BSP mobile banking feature “My Services”, or call the Customer Service 320 1212).
- After activation, new and continuing students can login to the UIS student portal with their student identifications and unique passcodes, as referenced in their Offer letters.
- Select ‘My Fees’ to view your student bill/invoice and proceed to ‘Pay Now’ with BSP Pay. (The Customer Name must match your BSP account name).
- You will receive a one-time-password though your mobile number to authenticate and complete the payment process.
UPNG is also a BSP Mobile Merchant, which provides an alternative payment option that is suitable for students and parents who wish to pay through BSP Mobile Banking *131#. UPNG's Mobile Merchant Code is 50239.
