Pari Elementary Participates in BSP School Kriket Blast

Less than a hundred Pari Elementary School students today showed up in taking part in the organized cricket blast to end the 2021 BSP School Kriket program at Amini Park in Port Moresby.

The BSP School Cricket Blasts are held quarterly within the selected regions that participate in the school cricket program. In 2021 it has seen over 25,000 students participate in the coaching clinics led by Cricket PNG’s Regional Cricket Managers and coordinators. These blasts introduce children as early as elementary to the game of cricket teaching the very fundamentals such as: batting, bowling and fielding including the rules of the game.

The BSP School cricket blasts  is actively participated  in all Cricket PNG Centres that is NCD, Central, Oro, Milne Bay, Morobe, Madang, Western Highland Province, Eastern Highlands Province, Jiwaka, Southern Highlands, and West New Britain. With over 50 Schools nationwide and over thousands of students taking part. The program has reached over 200,000 participants from Elementary and Primary schools in PNG.

BSP Corporate Sponsorship Manager Amelia Minnopu when addressing the Pari Elementary School students, teachers and CPNG staff said, “BSP over the years has been supporting the School Kriket competition in grooming and developing upcoming cricket talents, and has done so again this year with a sponsorship of K400, 000 towards the program.”

“The program has continued to be highly successful and has helped develop new skills for young people as they progress through their school activities. Standing true to the program’s objective, and support  for over 12 years since inception in 2009, the BSP School Kriket program has significantly produced skilled cricketers who have represented the country in international events,” said Ms Minnopu.

“Our partnership with Cricket PNG has been rewarding for both organisations. We applaud the efforts of Cricket PNG in making the program a success each year and in being recognised globally, and the participation of schools that embraced the program,” she added.

BSP continues to invest in people and communities at all levels, such involvement has strengthen the banks community relations in building closer relationship within each community.
