Over 100 BSP staff step out in Support of Cancer Awareness

Thursday, October 3, 2019

Over 100 staff and family members stepped out to participate in the 2019 Pacific International Hospital (PIH) Globeathon Charity Walk and raise awareness on cancer affecting women in Papua New Guinea.

This year, BSP once again threw in K10, 000 as Gold Sponsors of the event with a presentation made to PIH CEO, Mr Sandeep S Shaligram last week. The sponsorship presentation was a significant gesture for BSP, as cancer awareness among other health awareness for the staff was important for the bank.

BSP as a responsible corporate organisation in PNG, is responsible for over 4000 staff across the Pacific, and supporting this worthy cause contributes to the exposure, awareness and creates relevant conversations among the staff, within the family and in the communities that we live in.  The Bank has supported this worthy event since 2018, and again pleased to participate in this year's event.

PIH CEO, Mr Sandeep S Shaligram, thanked BSP for the support in participation and sponsorship, adding the event looks to create awareness among women and girls in primary, high schools and tertiary institutions. We would like to start conversations among women, and have the opportunity to create widespread awareness that can save lives.

The PIH Globeathon Charity Walk was held on Sunday 29th September at Ela Beach, Port Moresby NCD.
