BSP driving ‘Go Green Campaign’ in schools

BSP as the largest bank in PNG and the Pacific continues to drive its Go Green Campaign environmental message among schools and communities it operates in, through its annual School Clean-up campaign.

Over 160 selected schools in PNG took part in the 2023 BSP Go Green Campaign or School Clean-up day campaign today, Friday 10th November, 2023, driving environmental awareness messaging around the theme ““Rethink, Reuse and Recycle.”

The clean-up today saw respective Eco-Ambassadors from 37 BSP branches engage over 8,400 students nationwide in this annual event.

BSP Eco Ambassador from the Port Moresby Branch, Martin Kilagi and his team was at Bavaroko Primary School for the launch of the NCD schools cleanup. He said BSP’s Go Green campaign message is simple; cleaning the environment reduces pollution and protects the ecosystem, which is essential for human existence.

“We must all do our bit to rethink the way we dispose our waste and reuse to reduce waste as much as possible. We are much more than a bank; we are a real part of your community. Every year we help support environmental, educational, sporting, and charitable programmes to help the communities we operate in, “Kilagi told the Grade 3 and 4 students.

BSP Goroka Branch Staff led by Manager Rosemary Mawe took to the streets prior to branch opening to do their bit today. The team walked the streets outside the branch collecting rubbish. Students from West Goroka Primary School were among 169 other schools that took part on the program today.

The BSP Go Green Campaign is in its 13th year. It has seen over 40,000 students participate with over a thousand schools reached.
