Trojan Virus

Tuesday, October 22, 2019

Trojan Virus is a malicious computer software that enters your computer or smart phone by masquerading and hiding itself in a document, a program file or it can come through from a link within an email.

Its intention is to sit idle waiting for the request from the victim when they are trying to access their internet banking. The Trojan captures the details and sends it back to the fraudster who in turn commits the fraud by accessing your account and transferring money out.

How to avoid a Trojan:

  • Do not open emails attachments from unknown sources
  • Never click on links contained in an email unless you have verified through a different source (a telephone book or other sources)
  • BSP will not send an email requesting for your Bank details or Logon Credentials (User ID and Password)
