As a community bank that goes beyond banking, BSP Financial Group Limited (BSP) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting health initiatives by contributing K20, 000 to the PNG Cancer Relief Society (PNGCRS) this year.
BSP presented its support to the society in Lae this month, doubling its annual support from K10, 000 in previous years.
Speaking during the presentation, BSP Momase Regional Manager, Barry Namongo, said, “Cancer does not discriminate, and it is important that we continue to maintain close partnerships with the PNG Cancer Relief Society and our friends at ANGAU Hospital in the fight against this disease.”
In addition to financial support, BSP staff also took part in PNGCRS fundraising activities. Three staff members, together with Mr Namongo, joined the bi-annual 42km sponsored walkathon held on Sunday 17th August 2025, from Markham Farms entrance to Crossroads Hotel in Lae, Morobe Province.
The walkathon is PNGCRS’s key fundraising drive aimed at raising awareness and mobilising support for cancer patients and their families.
The Papua New Guinea Cancer Relief Society (PNGCRS) is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization that has been operating in PNG for 48 years. They are dedicated to spreading a message of hope, empowering communities, and providing life-saving support to those affected by cancer.
Through initiatives like this, BSP continues to demonstrate its commitment to community wellbeing and supporting causes that make a difference in the lives of Papua New Guineans.
