BSP Financial Group Limited has proudly delivered a life-changing water supply project to the people of Nagamizuha village in Eastern Highlands Province — a community that has shown extraordinary resilience in the face of hardship.
Home to over 1,920 residents and families, Nagamizuha was devastated by the tragic events of September 2022. The aftermath left the entire village in ruins — homes were destroyed, essential services disrupted, and most critically, access to clean water was completely cut off.
For more than three years, the people of Nagamizuha relied on containers, streams, and unsafe makeshift methods to meet their daily needs for drinking, cooking, and sanitation. This struggle underscored the community’s urgent need for a safe and sustainable water supply.

Through BSP’s Community Project Initiative, staff from the Goroka Branch worked closely with the village to restore this vital service. The new water supply project not only provides clean drinking water but also supports healthy living, restores dignity, and strengthens the foundation for a brighter future.
At the official handover ceremony, BSP Group CEO Mark Robinson said the project would touch every aspect of life in the village.
“This water supply will serve families, children, elders, and even livestock. It restores dignity, improves health, and supports daily living in ways that go beyond words. More importantly, it empowers the community to take ownership and sustain this resource for generations to come.”

BSP Group Chairman Robert Bradshaw reaffirmed BSP’s commitment to communities across PNG:
“We are proud to give back to the communities that support us. The Nagamizuha project is part of our 50for50 – Givim Bek campaign, where we are investing K2.5 million into 50 community-driven projects nationwide, each worth K50,000. This is our way of creating lasting change and celebrating PNG’s 50th Independence Anniversary.”
The Nagamizuha water project stands as a symbol of resilience, recovery, and partnership. Above all, it reflects BSP’s commitment to addressing real community needs and helping Papua New Guineans build stronger, healthier futures together.
