About the Role
The positions are located in Port Moresby and report directly to the Credit Strategy & Analytics Manager. As the Portfolio Management Lead, this role is essential for enhancing the overall performance of the lending portfolio, with a specific focus on recovery effectiveness and process optimization. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality reporting and analytics, developing and refining collections and recovery strategies, and leveraging data-driven insights to identify strategic opportunities for improved outcomes.
Key Deliverables
- Lead data mining initiatives, customer segmentation, and behavioral profiling to discern delinquency patterns, identify at-risk segments, and tailor recovery strategies within the retail lending portfolio.
- Conduct comprehensive portfolio analyses to uncover trends, pinpoint pain points, and assess emerging risks, thereby providing actionable insights to senior leadership.
- Establish and monitor credit quality metrics, risk thresholds, and early warning indicators to proactively identify potential issues, support pre-delinquency interventions, and enable targeted remedial actions.
- Drive the design, testing, and refinement of collections and recovery strategies utilizing historical trends, predictive modeling, and scenario analysis to enhance cure rates and minimize losses.
- Develop and maintain robust, automated reporting frameworks that track collection effectiveness, portfolio performance, and key operational KPIs, delivering actionable insights to stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Employ advanced data visualization and storytelling techniques to effectively communicate analytical findings and trends, thereby supporting decision-making processes across Collections and Credit.
- Advocate for the implementation of standardized tools, templates, and analytical practices across the collections function to ensure consistency, compliance, and an increase in analytical maturity within teams.
- Assist in fulfilling regulatory and compliance reporting obligations related to collections and recovery performance.
Essential Qualifications, Professional/Skills and Experience:
- University degree in STEM or related field Strong technical expertise and business acumen Excellent communication skills
- High numeracy and analytical abilities
- Familiarity with analytical tools and risk analytics Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of programming languages (SAS, SQL, R, Python, VBA) Understanding of predictive modeling and retail credit risk
- Strong problem-solving skills to translate data into strategic insights Minimum 10 years of finance industry experience, especially in retail lending
- Proven ability to work with data and understand the end-to-end lending process Preferred experience in collections and risk analytics.
