About the Role
This role is based in Port Moresby and will report to the Head of Markets Sales Pacific. The successful incumbent will be responsible for servicing and satisfying medium and large Corporate customer ‘s foreign exchange requirements.
Key Deliverables
- FX Market & Client Management: Manage FX market share for medium to large corporate clients through regular engagement, market insights, and trusted advisory support.
- FX Income Optimization: Maximize FX income, reduce operational errors, retain and grow client portfolios by identifying new revenue opportunities.
- FX Order Oversight: Maintain accuracy of the FX order board through ongoing reconciliation and oversight.
- Transaction Monitoring: Collaborate with internal teams to monitor and resolve unsettled FX deals, escalating issues where necessary.
- Account Monitoring: Ensure direct dealing clients maintain sufficient PGK balances to support FX orders.
- Client Portfolio Reviews: Conduct quarterly strategic reviews with key stakeholders to align on objectives and strengthen client relationships.
- Compliance: Adhere to all Treasury & Markets policies, procedures, and delegated authorities; complete relevant training as required.
- Team Coverage & Support: Provide backup for Sales Officers/Senior Managers and support broader team functions as needed.
- Cross-Training & Desk Coverage: Undergo cross-training on the Money Market and FX Trading desks, with the ability to temporarily manage desk operations.
- Professional Development: Completion of AFMA training is encouraged to enhance market knowledge and capability.
Essential Qualifications, Professional/Skills and Experience:
- University Degree in Business related discipline.
- AFMA or equivalent qualification relating to Financial Markets (Desirable).
- Proficiency in Calculus and Financial Calculations.
- Intermediate Core System Knowledge.
- Intermediate Computing Skills.
- Intermediate Industry Knowledge.
- Intermediate Skills in Numeracy and Finance.
- Basic Product Knowledge.
- Intermediate People Management Skills.
- Broad Understanding of Economics and Foreign Exchange Markets.
- 2 – 5 years banking experience.
