About the Role

BSP Financial Group is seeking an exceptional and highly experienced leader to take on the role of Head of Retail Payments Products & Group Payments Strategy — a critical position with enterprise-wide impact responsible for defining and executing BSP’s end-to-end payments strategy.

The successful candidate will drive the modernization, growth and optimization of BSP’s payments ecosystem, shaping how customers transact across cards, digital wallets, remittances, and real-time payment solutions.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

• Lead the development and execution of BSP’s Group-wide payments strategy and roadmap
• Oversee the full Retail Payments product portfolio including cards, digital wallets, remittances, account-to-account and emerging payment solutions
• Drive revenue growth, transaction volumes and customer adoption across all payment channels
• Lead enterprise-wide payment transformation initiatives, including digital banking, real-time payments and platform modernization
• Establish and manage strategic partnerships with payment schemes (Visa, Mastercard), fintechs, regulators and technology providers
• Ensure strong governance, regulatory compliance, and risk alignment across payment initiatives
• Act as a delegate to the Group General Manager Retail Banking in executive forums on payments-related matters, including Board and ExCo engagements
• Serve as BSP’s enterprise Payments SME, influencing strategic direction across business lines and markets

Qualifications, Technical skills and Experience

• 10–15+ years’ experience in banking, financial services or payments, with deep exposure to payments products, digital banking and retail financial services.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Technology or related discipline (mandatory); postgraduate qualification (MBA or equivalent) highly desirable .

Technical Expertise

• Advanced, enterprise-level knowledge of:
  • Card issuing and acquiring (Visa, Mastercard)
  • Digital payments, wallets, and real-time payment systems
  • Cross-border payments and remittances
  • Payment economics, pricing and revenue drivers
• Strong understanding of:
  • Payments architecture, core banking integration, and API ecosystems
  • Regulatory, compliance and financial crime frameworks (AML/CFT, fraud)

Leadership & Commercial Capability

• Proven experience leading large-scale transformation programs (e.g. payments modernization, digital migration, platform upgrades).
• Demonstrated ability to manage enterprise-level portfolios, P&L ownership and investment decisions.
• Strong track record influencing executive stakeholders, regulators, and global partners.
• Experience operating across multiple markets or complex regulatory environments is highly desirable.
