About the Role
The role is based in Port Moresby and reports directly to the Senior Developer. The successful incumbent is specialize in designing and implementing user-friendly and responsive web applications using modern frontend technologies.
Key Deliverables
- Develop responsive and accessible user interfaces using JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Build and maintain scalable web applications using modern frontend frameworks such as React and Next.js.
- Ensure cross-browser compatibility and optimize applications for performance and security.
- Implement frontend build tools and automation practices to streamline development workflows.
- Work closely with the Senior Developer, backend developers, and designers to deliver cohesive solutions.
- Translate design wireframes and prototypes into functional frontend code.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure best practices and maintain code quality.
- Provide regular updates on development progress and actively engage in team discussions.
- Stay informed about emerging frontend technologies and industry trends.
- Propose and implement innovative techniques to enhance user experience and application performance.
- Identify and resolve UI/UX bottlenecks in existing applications.
Essential Qualifications, Professional/Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related IT Fields.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Hands-on experience with frontend frameworks like React and Next.js
- Familiarity with build tools such as Webpack, Babel, and npm/yarn.
- Basic understanding of Git and version control systems.
- Basic Linux system administration and Bash scripting skills.
- Strong understanding of Delivery Models and partnering for IT delivery.
- Excellent analytical, evaluative, and problem solving abilities.
- Enhanced communication skills (verbal and written) and excellent interpersonal communications and networking skills.
- Minimum 2 years of industry experience in frontend development.
- Proven ability to deliver responsive and high-performance web applications.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including designers and backend developers.
- 2 years minimum experience as a Developeror relevant role.
- Strong experience in IT project delivery, IT process implementation and IT process management.
- Experience in Systems design, product development lifecycle and development.
- Experience/Exposure with Digital capabilities, Data capabilities and tools, Collaboration tools, emerging technologies and business solutions
