BSP Brand Ambassador - Toea Wisil

Toea who has represented BSP as the brand ambassador since 2012, and recently signed on for another two years.
Crowned the sprint queen of the Pacific, Toea Wisil has certainly made her mark in the Papua New Guinean Sports Scene, Inspiring Young Athletes Across the Oceania.
From humble beginnings in the Western Highlands of PNG, Toea is proving that no matter your circumstances through hard work and dedication you can achieve greatness.
Toea burst onto the international athletics stage after her efforts at the 2003 inaugural PNG Games where she impressed the then president Tony Green with her performance in the 400m sprint which led to her being invited to attend two national training camps.
Toea has never looked back. Toea has been crowned Papua New Guinea's Sports Woman of the Year in the SP Sports Awards in 2010 and 2011, flag bearer at the 2012 London Olympics as well as one of the Games Ambassadors for the 6th PNG Games in 2014, Toea's determination and commitment to continually improving herself and pushing herself is paying off.
AchievementsToea's career has seen her compete in the world's most prestigious sporting events. In 2012 Toea had the pleasure of being Papua New Guinea's flag bearer at the London Olympic Games.
Some of her notable accomplishments on the track is 5 Gold Medals won at the 2011 Pacific Games in New Caledonia, winning the 100m, 200m, 400m, 4 x 100m relay and 4 x 400m relay.
In April 2013 Wisil became the first ever Papua New Guinean to hold an Australian national track title when she claimed the 100 metres in Sydney. In 2010 she missed out on PNG's first ever track and field medal at the Commonwealth Games by just 0.04 of a second, in finishing 4th in the 100m.
In 2014, Toea was announced as an official games ambassador of the 2014 PNG Games in Lae, PNG.
