Position Details

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Required to frequently travel and change work locations and conditions in order to identify credit quality and any material shortcomings in the credit risk management process and credit portfolio monitoring process within a limited period of time.
  • Liaise with Relationship Managers, Credit, Lending Support and other support staff as required to collect sufficient information on credit risk issues and be able to provide a balanced opinion and recommendations to address any concerns or limitations.
  • Undertake research of credit portfolio reports aiming at identifying potential areas of concern.
  • Identify patterns in credit risk development and provide a basis for on-site Credit Risk inspections in all jurisdictions of the Bank’s operations.
  • Prepare and consult with the Manager, Credit Inspection, drafts of the inspection report which include findings and recommendations for improvement or follow up action.
  • Collect and analyse essential credit risk information from within the organisation as a basis for opinion on modified credit policies.
  • Participate in ad hoc inspections as ordered by Management (&/or Board) in order to provide senior management with an in depth and independent opinion on credit risk issues.
  • Participate in the special assignments inside the Bank Group aiming at sharing specific expertise to other entities within the Bank.
  • Outstanding issues and compliance certificates are to be recorded and followed up on a weekly basis.
  • Assist with achieving the CI plan for the year / half year (allowing for additional ad hoc review requests, and follow up reviews).
Essential Qualifications, Professional/Skills and Experience:
  • University Degree or other tertiary institution, preferably Accounting, Economics, Legal or Finance
  • Minimum 5 years of banking experience within the area credit or corporate.
  • Ideally experience gained as Credit Officer in Corporate or Commercial Banking, or other relevant experience as deemed equivalent.
  • Strong financial analysis skills.
  • An understanding of BSP Online Manual and core BSP lending systems (ICBS, Moody’s Financial Analyst, and Bizeweb).
  • Detailed understanding of Credit and Risk within wholesale banking.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer Literate.
