People recruited as trainees are provided with on-the-job training over the course of their career with occasional in-house training, self-learn packages and selected external courses.

Management Trainee Program

Bank South Pacific is the largest commercial Bank in Papua New Guinea operating in 36 branches nationwide. Bank South Pacific believes in quality development and training and our strategy is to recruit university graduates for its Management Trainee Program. This is an excellent opportunity for young enthusiastic individuals who are looking to build long-term career in banking with a successful and growing bank that is wholly nationally owned.

Bank South Pacific Management Trainee Program provides graduates with the Banks seven (7) Strategic Business Units (SBU) over a 12-month period to broaden their general banking knowledge. The successful candidates will attend other in-house training course for personal and professional development. Human Resource Management will hold a bi-monthly meeting with each trainee over the 12 months attachment period to discuss the trainee's progress and career interest. Following the completion of the program you will be included in the Bank's High Growth Potential program and your career progression will be managed through the annual Bank South Pacific Management Review Process.

We are seeking graduates in bank related fields such as Business, Economics, Accounting, Marketing, Sales and Information Technology.

The successful candidates for the program should meet the following criteria:
- 25-26 years of age
- Have obtained a grade of B or above in the last 2 years of study
- Possess Leadership Potential
- Be confident and have a strong sense of commitment toward delivering results
- Eager to learn and be open-minded in all aspects of learning
- Possess good communication skills, both oral and written
