This was announced as an additional prize money giveaway, to complement BSP's continued Platinum Sponsor support towards the prestigious Game Fishing Titles.

The event will held in Madang from the 8th - 17th April, 2017, and is expected to draw over 200 anglers from PNG, the Pacific and the world.

Vice President of the Madang Game Fishing Club, Gary McGowan thanked BSP for their continued support and the valued relationship established between the Madang Game Fishing Club and BSP.

"It's a real pleasure to work with a strong, long term sponsor who not only puts up as a Platinum Sponsor, but who also strives to maximise the benefits they gain from the sponsorship," McGowan said.

BSP Madang Branch Manager, Barry Namongo said, "BSP was pleased to join the challenge this year and supporting the event encourages growth in tourism and sports in Madang and PNG as a whole."

"The National Game Fishing Titles has become popular in the sporting calendar and this was good for the country as it increases Papua New Guinea's international exposure in a positive way," Mr Namongo said.

The National Game Fishing Titles started in Rabaul in 1974, with the New Britain Game Fishing Club being the first hosts. BSP has been the Platinum sponsor since 2002.
