BSP Group Chief Risk Officer/Deputy CEO Robin Fleming, officially handed over the renovated classroom last Friday (04/05/12) on behalf of the BSP Moro Branch.
The renovation which included repainting, replacing floors and walls was part of the BSP Moro community project. The BSP Moro project is part of a bank-wide community project initiative delivered by branches nationwide.
BSP community projects are typically in the form of school equipment provision and classroom refurbishments, hospital and aid-post repairs, water tank installations, market and public area clean-ups, and support of equipment and funding of various charities.
"By assisting the CDI UPNG Open College we are investing in the future, as the upgraded facility will ensure our young people can continue their education. We believe the environment will now be more conducive to work and to learn," Mr Fleming said.
Mr Fleming said BSP is proud to be one of the leading corporate companies in Papua New Guinea in terms of supporting community initiatives, projects and programs that make meaningful and lasting change in the communities.
"BSP has a commitment to the people of Papua New Guinea like no other bank or financial Institution. As the only home grown bank in Papua New Guinea, such is our commitment, as we truly understand that we have the opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting difference where it matters most," he said.
The locals including administrators of the CDI UPNG Open College welcomed this much need renovation and thanked BSP for contributing to the education of community and province.
