And with the BSP Alert service customers will know instantly when their salary is credited to their bank accounts, among other alerts. This means customers do not have to queue up in the branch or ATM lobby to check if their salary is in the bank on fortnights.
The bank's Group Chief Executive Officer Ian B Clyne when launching these new services during a media conference today (13/07/12) said "BSP is the One Bank that is truly committed to making banking a convenient and easy part of life. We are One Bank that has a real understanding that there's an increasing need to save time and money."
"We're committed to improving our product offers, service levels and access to banking services for our customers by continuing to introduce new services and technology," Mr Clyne added.
The menu based service also allows customers to view their mini statements, view current transaction, purchase top ups, receive SMS alerts when there are activities happening to your account and Transfer funds to third party accounts.
Mobile Banking Customers can simply log in by dialing in *131# and following the prompts that appear on the screen. This Mobile Banking is session based and each session commences from login.
For the SMS alerts customers can register for which alerts they want to receive, from Salary Alerts and other activities happening to their account.
BSP Alerts are SMS notifications/messages sent to a customers mobile phone about specific transactions that have been systematically designed to send out these notifications/messages .
Both the menu based Mobile banking and Alert service applies to Digicel network users only.
BSP was the first bank to introduce Mobile Banking via SMS in 2009, and its customer base continues to grow, and today there are more than 223,000 BSP Mobile Banking users.
