BSP gives support to CPAPNG to stage conferences

The Certified Practicing Accountants PNG (CPAPNG) received K52, 500 from BSP today (07/06/12) to host its annual series of conferences.

BSP Group Chief Financial Officer & Deputy CEO Johnson Kalo presented the sponsorship and was pleased to point out BSP was happy to continue the relationship that started in 1995, when BSP signed up to be gold sponsor.

"The knowledge, skill and diligence of professional and talented accountants, cannot be understated, because they monitor the performance of a business and ensure that finances of the business are legitimate and accurate and we are happy to support a professional body that encourages accountants to share knowledge and experience during these meetings," Mr Kalo said.

CPA PNG's membership is made up of accounting and finance staff from both the public and private sectors including NGOs and BSP is totally committed to see its employees become professionally qualified members of CPA PNG.

The meetings will be held in Madang (June 15th), Lae (August 9 -10th) and in Port Moresby (November 15th - 16th).

CPAPNG Executive Director Karlus Kepakan thanked BSP for its continuing support and said that this partnership over the years has maintained the role of CPA in developing competent and professional accountants to serve corporate organisations in Papua New Guinea.

CPA PNG National President Dr. Dr. Ken Ngangan shed similar remarks and said that this said that this sponsorship will go a long way in the true spirit of integral human capital development in PNG. 

CPA and BSP through this partnership have enabled many young and practicing accountants to expand their knowledge and skills in their profession hence brings benefit to the economic development of this country.
