BSP continues support for PNG Men’s National Titles

It's been ten years since BSP first cued in support for the PNG Men's National Snooker Titles and the relationship is still going strong.

BSP today (20/08/12) handed over K15,000 to the Port Moresby Port Moresby Billiards and Snooker association (PMBSA) to stage the PNG Men's National Snooker Titles . BSP has sponsored this event since 2002.

BSP's head of Marketing Julie Fraser when handing over the sponsorship reiterated BSP's commitment to the code and said "BSP is pleased to support the event".

"There is more to BSP than banking. BSP supports the development of health, education and sports throughout PNG. We aim to see positive results in our community and our country through sports." She added.

Roger Wilson, POMBSA President said the association is grateful to our leading bank BSP for the last ten years of sponsorship and together we have seen some great developments in our players through the years. It is encouraging to have BSP on board for the last ten years and we are grateful for your support which enables us to organise this events every year, he added.

The 2012 BSP PNG Men's National Snooker Championships for the Minor (B Grade) will cue off on Thursday 6th to 9th September and Major (A Grade) will be held from 13th - 16th September.

Nominations are open now and registration for B Grade is K150 per player while registration for A Grade is K200.00.   We anticipate 88 players to register for this event this year and nominations will close on Monday 3rd Sept.

Players are expected to come from Alotau, Kavieng, Kokopo, Lae. Defending champion is Djorne Fong who has won this event for the past four years.

The tournament director is Mr Richard Whitchurch and the matches will be played at the Aviat, Car and Port Moresby Country clubs.
