BSP Group Chief Executive Officer Ian B Clyne in announcing the start of the green Gold's television and radio teaser commercials today (17/05/12) said the campaign is the start of a great season of fun and creativity and will be bigger and more rewarding.
"It's back and we will let you know HOW BIG very soon, but I assure you there's plenty more to come and we are the One bank to start rewarding our customers in a most extraordinary way - just for doing their banking more conveniently," he said.
Mr Clyne said Green Gold was an outstanding success in 2011 and the new "Green Gold" will start next month.
The campaign lead to BSP introducing "Ultra" fast path account opening which enabled the bank to open a new retail account in only a few minutes, among other improvements. It also saw more than 130, 000 new retail accounts opened in 2011.
BSP Green Gold is deliberately designed to encourage customers to use their KunduCard and Mobile Banking to conduct day-to-day transactions to obtain cash or complete a purchase.
Customers can transfer money (ATM, Mobile Banking), buy food (EFTPoS), get cash for PMV fares or the market (ATM, EFTPoS), Top-Up mobile phone (ATM, Mobile Banking). These transactions are cheaper than visiting a branch.
To be eligible for Green Gold, customers simply have to transact on any BSP ATM or EFTPoS using their KunduCard or use Mobile Banking. Last year the campaign only drew winners from ATM and EFTPoS transactions.
"BSP has more ATM's and EFTPOS and Electronic Channels than our competitors and we want our customers to start using these channels because it is cheap, convenient and easy," Mr Clyne said.
Ilai Kaku who won K250,000, after his K60 ATM transaction turned into treasure in the BSP Green Gold Promotion last year agrees that the campaign was a success and also life changing. He won the grand prize in a pool of 12.5 million eligible transactions.
"BSP indeed is my bank for life, as no other bank or company for that matter has rewarded customers in such a massive way, as far as I know and I say thank you to the bank for rewarding customers".
